KIEV, August 01. /ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian government is about to introduce sanctions against local companies, which have Russian investors, head of the state tax service Igor Bilous said on Friday.

“We’ve received an initiative of the prime minister, we’ve compiled a list of all companies with Russian investors in Ukraine, including large, medium and small companies,” Bilous said.

A final decision will be made soon by the Ukrainian government or the national security service.

Russian business in Ukraine is mainly represented in banking and finances, telecommunications, energy and restaurants.

Energy companies such as LUKOIL, Rosneft and Tatneft have subsidiaries and other assets in the country as well as eight Russian banks, including Sberbank and VTB, and two stock exchanges with Russian participation. IL-patio and Planeta Sushi restaurants are owned by the Russian company Rosinter. MTS mobile operator and search engine Yandex also have subsidiaries in Ukraine.

Earlier in July, governor of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina commented on the initiative to ban operations of Russian banks’ subsidiaries in Ukraine saying such a bill would primarily harm Ukraine and describing interaction with the management of the National Bank of Ukraine as “weak”.

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk earlier said Ukraine would impose sanctions on Russians who support “separatists and terrorists” and threaten the country’s territorial integrity.
