Russian air transport officials arrive in Kiev to take part in MH17 crash probe
The Russian experts intend to meet with the investigation commission head, Gijsbert Vogelaar, and provide the commission with all materials requested earlier by the commission’s chairman
MOSCOW, July 31. /ITAR-TASS/. Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) Oleg Storchevoi has arrived in Kiev with a group of his advisers, the agency press service said on Thursday.
Storchevoi has been appointed Russia’s authorized representative for the investigation of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing flight MH17 flight.
“The Russian experts intend to meet with the investigation commission head, Gijsbert Vogelaar, and provide the commission with all materials requested earlier by the commission’s chairman,” Rosaviatsia said.
“Furthermore, today, the Russian mission will try, whenever possible, to get to the area of the airliner crash and examine the aircraft structure elements on site jointly with the members of the international investigation commission,” the press service said.
The Russian expert group will also take part in other activities for the investigation of the circumstances and causes of the crash, in accordance with the Standards and Recommended Practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
