Sanctioned weapon producer says EU sanctions “hypocritical”
On Wednesday, the EU included eight more individuals and three companies on the Russia-Ukraine black list
MOSCOW, July 31. /ITAR-TASS/. The European Union sanctions against Russian anti-aircraft weapons maker Almaz-Antey are a “hypocritical decision”, the company’s press office said on Thursday.
“The EU decision evokes mixed feelings: pride for the concern because it is estimated as so important for the country and pity that the EU has made such a hypocritical decision,” chief executive Yan Novikov is quoted by press office.
“Having no evidence of possible implication of the militia and much less Russia in Malaysian Boeing-777 tragedy in Donetsk, they resort to different tricks, in particular blame what happened on a weapon developer,” he said.
On Wednesday, the EU included eight more individuals and three companies on the Russia-Ukraine black list. The corporate newcomers are the Russian National Commercial Bank, the main bank in Crimea after it joined the Russian Federation, Almaz Antey and Dobrolyot air carrier, which operates flights from Moscow to Crimea. The total sanction list comprises 95 individuals and 23 legal entities.
