WASHINGTON, July 31. / ITAR-TASS /. American lawmakers supported a resolution to sue President Barack Obama accountable for allegedly exceeding his constitutional powers during enforcement of the health care law.

The measure passed 225 to 201 members of the House of Representatives.

As expected, the bill was supported by the president's opponents of the Republican Party. Democrats opposed the bill.

The approved resolution allows lawyers to prepare the necessary documents against Obama during the next parliamentary recess, which begins on the 1st of August.

The Affordable Care Act is considered as the main domestic achievement of Obama. The unofficial name of the program is ObamaCare.

According to the law all Americans, as well as permanent residents of the United States had to buy a health insurance until 31 March 2014. Otherwise, they must pay a fine. At the same time, there are still many who do not want to spend the money, believing they can do without the insurance policy and pay for a one-time visit to the doctor. This position is supported mostly by young people, who don’t have serious diseases.
