TBILISI, July 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is officially accused of abuse of power.

As the former president lives abroad since November 2013, Saakashvili’s lawyer in Tbilisi Otar Kakhidze was informed about the decision on Tuesday.

The republican Prosecutor General’s Office brings Saakashvili to criminal responsibility for an order to break up by force a peaceful rally in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, in November 2007, for disorder police commandoes staged at a local television company and for attempts to seize someone else’s property.

Saakashvili already said that he “does not intend to go for questioning to Tbilisi and co-operate with the Prosecutor General’s Office.”

He worked as Georgian president from 2004 to 2013. Saakashvili has been mainly staying in Ukraine for last six months.
