State authorities are taking efforts to free sailors from captivity

SINGAPORE, July 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Armed pirates have captured an oil tanker off the coast of Ghana, West Africa. More than 20 people, including citizens of China, Myanmar, South Korea and Singapore were aboard the tanker, an electronic edition of the Straits Times daily reported on Tuesday.

The connection has been lost with the ship back on July 26 and then it became clear that it was seized. The tanker operated by a Singaporean shipping company was delivering oil from the African western coast.

State authorities are taking efforts to free sailors from captivity.
