KIEV, July 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine will not extradite the far-right radical nationalist Dmitro Yarosh, the leader of the Pravy Sektor (Right Sector) movement to Russia that has placed the man on Interpol’s international of most wanted persons, Vassily Nevolya, the chief of Interpol’s bureau in Ukraine said Friday.

“Yarosh cannot either extradited or arrested on a warrant issued by a foreign state since he stays under protection of the Ukrainian state,” he said.

Nevolya explained that any actions targeted at Ukrainian citizens are prohibited by the Constitution and national laws. “We can only acknowledge the fact (of warrant issuance by Interpol - ITAR-TASS),” he said.

Interpol said in a report at its official website earlier on the same day that Yarosh had been placed on the international wanted list at Russia’s request.

Yarosh, one of the prominent activists in the violent events that have swept Ukraine since last December, is charged with public calls for terrorism involving the mass media.

A warrant for his detention has been issued at the Russian Federation's request.

Interpol has placed two photos of the man at its website - a color photo and a black-and-white one. Everyone having information on the person is asked to report it to law enforcement agencies.

Russia’s Investigation Committee has opened a criminal case for Yarosh, charging him with “instigation of terrorists and extremist with the aid of mass media.”

In his speeches, Yarosh typically calls on the Russophobic forces to engage in extremist activities and terror on the territory of Russia.

Basmanny District Court in Moscow City authorized Yarosh’s arrest in absentia.
