Russian PM calls for independent probe into Malaysian jet crash
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb had a telephone conversation
MOSCOW, July 24. /ITAR-TASS/. An independent and unbiased investigation into the crash of Malaysia’s Boeing 777 in Ukraine’s east should be carried out, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb said in a telephone conversation on Thursday.
The conversation was held on the Finnish initiative.
“Offering their condolences to those who lost their relatives and loved ones in the crash of the Malaysian plane in Ukraine’s airspace, Medvedev and Stubb draw a line under their common understanding that the crash is the most gruesome tragedy and an independent and unbiased, without outside pressure, investigation must be brought to an end,” a spokesman for the governmental press service told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.
Besides, the two men exchanged views on relations between Russia and Finland as well as on interaction between the European Union and Russia as the latter got interested in further consultations and contacts on these issues, the government said.
