Unilateral sanctions unable to resolve disputes — Argentine ambassador to Russia

MOSCOW, July 24. /ITAR-TASS/. Unilateral sanctions are unable to resolve any disputes, Argentine Ambassador to Russia Pablo Tettamanti told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.

Such sanctions only complicate dialogue between the countries, he said. “Argentina was always against unilateral economic sanctions. Our position remains unchanged: sanctions cannot help settle any disputes,” Tettamanti said.

“In order to make sanctions legitimate, they should be approved by corresponding structures and based on the existing agreements, for example by the UN Security Council under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter,” he said.
