As many as 48 people were killed and 10 more injured when a TransAsia ATR-72 plane failed to make an emergency landing and crashed in a residential area.

Taiwan authorities haven't mentioned a terrorist attack as a probable cause of crash. Bad weather is considered the main reason for the crash. Typhoon Matmo is currently passing Taiwan, which brings heavy rains and winds.
