Putin, Dutch premier discuss implementation of UN resolution on Boeing 777 plane crash
The UN Security Council resolution demands an immediate suspension of all the combat actions in the area of the crash
MOSCOW, July 22./ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte supported UN Security Council Resolution 2166 on a thorough and independent investigation of Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 plane crash, the Kremlin said on Tuesday.
On Monday, July 21, Putin and Rutte praised the resolution and exchanged views on measures to investigate the cause of the jet crash.
The UN Security Council resolution demands an immediate suspension of all the combat actions in the area of the crash and an unimpeded access for investigators to the site of the crash for an all-round, thorough and independent investigation as specified by the international principles of civil aviation.
Russian permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin said Russia was ready to assist the investigation in every possible way and to send its investigators upon request.
He stressed the importance of conducting the investigation under the auspices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
