As many as 121 Palestinian children have been killed and 904 injured as a result of Israel’s air military operation in the Gaza Strip that was launched on July 8, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) reported on Tuesday. According to UNICEF, children make one-third of the total number of victims among peaceful civilians.

According to the Palestinian enclave, 583 people have been killed and 3,600 injured in Gaza over the past two weeks.

The Israeli army’s casualties on the sixth day from the beginning of the ground phase of the operation in Gaza have reached 27 killed and 123 wounded.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on Tuesday that 107 thousand children are in need of specialised psychological and social assistance for coping with injuries they get, facing the death and mutilation of their relatives and loss of shelter.

OCHA press secretary Jens Laerke told a briefing that the Israeli military operation has made more than 100 thousand people leave homes, nearly 500 homes have been destroyed by Israeli army strikes.
