Russia ready to join international experts in investigating Boeing crash in Ukraine

MOSCOW, July 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia is ready to join ICAO-led international experts who are investigating the crash of the Malaysian plane in eastern Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

“Russia is closely watching the investigation into the cause of the Malaysian plane accident in Ukraine’s airspace,” the ministry said.

It welcomed the transfer of the plane’s flight data recorders to Malaysian officials. “We hope that they will subsequently be handed over to the ICAO-led international group of experts whom Russia is ready to join,” the ministry said.

The plane en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region on July 17. All of the 298 people aboard died.
