KIEV, July 20, /ITAR-TASS/. As many as 196 people were found dead at the crash site of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 passenger airliner in Shakhtersk district in east Ukraine’s Donetsk region, the Ukrainian State Service of Emergency Situations said on Sunday.
“The chief of the search operation has determined the 34-square-kilometre search area [settlements of Moskovskoye, Rassypnoye, Grabovo, Stryukovo, Grabovskoye dam lake]. Around 32 square kilometres have been searched through,” the service stated.
As many as 380 people, including 100 emergency workers, particularly divers and 20 units of machinery are involved in the search-and-rescue operation. The governmental committee is investigating the airliner’s crash tragedy.
