KUALA LUMPUR, July 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Malaysia Airlines said on Friday it had determined the nationalities of all but four of the 298 victims aboard its flight MH17 that crashed in eastern Ukraine.

The airline said the flight had 189 Dutch passengers, 44 Malaysian, 27 Australian, 12 Indonesian, nine British, four German, four Belgian, three Filipino, one Canadian and one New Zealander on board as well as four of as yet unidentified nationalities.

A Dutch parliamentarian, chair of the committee for internal affairs of the country’s senate Willem Witteveen was among the plane crash victims. The senate’s website reported this on Friday.

The 62-year-old representative of the Labor Party, who was also Bachelor of Liberal Arts at Tilburg University, was on the MH17 flight together with his daughter.

Meanwhile, there were no citizens of France among the victims, President Francois Hollande stated while on a visit in Niger.

“Apparently, there was no French there,” AFP news agency quoted the country’s leader, who referred to documents handed over by the air carrier.

Earlier it was reported that the bodies of 181 victims were discovered at the crash site of Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 777 passenger plane in eastern Ukraine. The committee investigating the airplane’s tragedy held its first meeting on Friday. The special forensic identification laboratory will be located in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.

Relatives of the victims will receive visas upon arrival at Kiev’s airport Borispol. Interpol specialists will identify the victims in the crash of the Malaysian Boeing in east Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, fell down in Ukraine’s Donetsk region on Thursday.

The plane crashed in about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the border with Russia near the regional capital of Donetsk, killing all 298 people on board.
