VIENNA, July 18./ITAR-TASS/. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) announced plans to hold an extraordinary session on Friday afternoon to discuss the issue of Malaysian passenger aircraft, which crashed on Thursday overflying the territory of Ukraine.

A source in the OSCE press service told ITAR-TASS that the session was scheduled to start in Austria’s Vienna at 12:30 p.m. local time (10:30 GMT).

Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it crashed near Ukraine’s embattled eastern Donetsk Region on Thursday night.

A total of 298 people, including all passengers and crewmembers, died in the air crash. Earlier reports cited the figure of 295 people killed in the crash, however, it turned out later that three newborns were unaccounted on the tragic flight.

Kiev authorities accused Russia and Ukrainian militias immediately for being behind the air disaster.

The European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) reported on Friday that Ukraine’s authorities sealed air space over the country’s eastern regions following the Malaysian aircraft’s crash.

Earlier reports suggested that the killed passengers in the crash were citizens of the Netherlands, the United States, Great Britain, France, and Malaysia.
