Finland say will try to stop suspension of cross-border cooperation with Russia by EU

BRUSSELS, July 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Finland will try to put brake on the cancelation of cross-border cooperation between the EU and Russia, Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb said Wednesday.

All the programs of cross-border cooperation are put up for discussion at the EU summit Wednesday and Finland will try and block the proliferation of EU’s sanctions against Russia into that area, he was quoted by Finland’s STT news agency.

Stubb admitted he could not promise that the cross-border cooperation programs would not be frozen eventually but he said he hoped a witty solution of the problem would be found in one way or another.
