Parliament of Union of People’s Republics adopts constitution of Novorossia
In the state of Novorossia all republics will have equal possibilities for the settlement of language and culture issues
LUHANSK, July 15. /ITAR-TASS/. The parliament of the Union of People’s Republics (UPR) has adopted changes to the Constitution of the confederative state, passed a number of important laws and appeal, the parliament head Oleg Tsaryov told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.
“The second plenary meeting of the parliament of the Union of People’s Republics has taken place. The meeting adopted changes to the UPR Constitution. We can now rightly, de jure, call our state Novorossia. This name has been enshrined in the Constitution. Our legislative body is now called the parliament of Novorossia,” he said.
According to him, a number of important laws have been passed without which the legislative body cannot work - the Law “On Parliament” and on the deputy status.
Each deputy will be responsible for his own district, work there, help people, in particular, with humanitarian aid, the parliament head noted. “The real work with the citizens of Novorossia will be launched. I hope that the parliament of Novorossia will become a venue on which the people’s republics will be working out consensus and developing common decisions. Step by step we will be moving towards building an independent state,” Tsaryov said.
“We all realise very well that two republics are stronger than each one separately. Having launched Novorossia as a project, having adopted the Constitution of the state, we are ready to admit to it all the rest republics of the southeast of Ukraine, possibly, from the west also. In the state of Novorossia all republics will have equal possibilities for the settlement of language and culture issues. They will have the equal voting right.
The parliament session that was held on Monday registered 48 deputies: 25 from the Luhansk and 23 - from the Donetsk People’s Republics. The UPR parliament comprises 60 deputies - 30 representatives from each republic.
On June 24, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic announced the decision to unite into a confederative state - the Union of People’s Republics.
