Brazilian leader hails Russia’s position on Syria, Middle East settlement
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow and Brasilia were insisting on compliance with international law when solving regional problems
BRASILIA, July 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has hailed Russia’s positions on the settlement of the Syrian crisis and the situation in the Middle East.
“We think that conflicts growing in numbers in various parts of the plant are a threat to international stability,” she said on Monday after talks with visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin.
She said her country would maintain dialogue with Russia in order to maintain stability of the international system and called on international organizations to work more efficiently.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow and Brasilia were insisting on compliance with international law when solving regional problems.
He said that during his talks with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff the two leaders discussed “the international agenda”.
“Russia and Brazil have common approaches to the resolution of key global problems with the central and coordinating role of the United Nations and with international law taking precedence in solving regional conflicts,” he noted.
