Canada to blacklist 14 more Ukrainians

Some of them linked with the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic

OTTAWA, July 12 /ITAR-TASS/. Canada has put another 14 people on the list of sanctions and travel bans, the country’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a statement, published on the official website on Friday.

The document lists the following names: Viktor Anosov, Vyacheslav Apraksimov, Fyodor Berezin, Ruslan Ilkayev, Valery Kaurov, Alexander Khodakovsky, Nikolai Kozitsyn, Alexei Mozgovoi, Valery Musiyenko, Vyacheslav Petrov, Igor Plotnitsky, Yuri Protesenko, Oleg Vasin, and Sergei Zdryulik.

Some of the listed people are representatives of the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic.

“Today, we are announcing economic sanctions and travel bans against 14 additional individuals who have taken violent action aimed at undermining Ukrainian sovereignty and violating Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

“Canada supports President Petro Poroshenko’s peace plan and we will continue to apply pressure against Russia with our allies and partners. We continue to closely monitor the situation and we are ready for further actions if necessary,” the prime minister said in the statement.
