MOSCOW, July 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande have called for resuming the ceasefire regime as soon as possible and holding a meeting of the Contact Group for Ukraine.

The leaders of three countries had a telephone talk on Thursday, the Kremlin has reported.

They continued discussions on different aspects of the crisis in Ukraine due to the punitive operation in the country’s southeast and the growing flow of Ukrainian refugees to Russia. “They agreed to continue contacts on Ukraine,” the Kremlin says.

July 1, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko declared termination of the ceasefire regime in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Along with it, he claimed he would be ready to resume it if all the side observed provisions of his peace plan.

“Ukraine’s Armed Forces, the national guard, the state border service and the security service have received the appropriate orders,” the address said. “They are no longer restricted by the ceasefire regime in their efforts to implement the tasks related to assuring (Ukraine’s) territorial integrity.”

July 2, Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine have concluded a package of agreements on truce.
