Two Ukrainian servicemen killed, TV reporter wounded near Luhansk — Ukraine official
KIEV, July 09. /ITAR-TASS/. A checkpoint on the outskirts of the city of Luhansk in Ukraine’s south-east came under shelling from militiamen of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, leaving two Ukrainian servicemen dead and a news reporter of the Ukrainian TV channel Inter wounded, a spokesman for Ukraine’s Council of National Security and Defense Andriy Lysenko told a briefing on Wednesday.
“Today, near Luhansk, two Ukrainian servicemen were killed by mortar shelling and Roman Bochkala, a reporter of the Inter television channel, was seriously wounded,” Lysenko said. “The TV reporter was airlifted to the Kharkiv military hospital, and his condition is satisfactory at the moment.”
The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council reports that in the past 24 hours three Ukrainian servicemen were killed and another four were wounded in the area of the military operation.
