Restoration of infrastructure in Luhansk, Donetsk to cost $700 million — Ukraine PM
“This is a huge sum. We will think where to find the required funds,” he says
KIEV, July 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Restoration of infrastructure in the eastern Ukrainian cities of Luhansk and Donetsk will cost at least 8.1 billion hryvnias (about $700 million), Ukrainian parliament-appointed Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Wednesday at a cabinet meeting.
“This is a huge sum. We will think where to find the required funds,” Yatsenyuk said.
“The central authorities will do everything for restoration of normal life. Return to your homes, we will restore Donetsk and Luhansk together,” the premier said addressing the local population.
Kiev’s military operation against federalization supporters in Ukraine's war-torn southeastern regions, conducted since mid-April and involving armored vehicles, heavy artillery and attack aviation, has resulted in hundreds of deaths and heavy damage to buildings. Tens of thousands of people were forced to flee Ukraine.
