BEIJING, July 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Countries willing to join the Shanghai Cooperation Agreement (SCO) should unconditionally sign all of the organization’s earlier agreements, Head of the Russian presidential staff Sergei Ivanov said on Wednesday speaking to students of Russian philology in Beijing.

This view was shared by Russia and China, and Russia was going to advocate this position at the time of its presidency in 2015, he said.

“Many countries would like to join the SCO, there is a long line standing”, among them Pakistan and India, Ivanov said. “These are serious countries, whose presence in the SCO would lend the organization more respect and influence. But we need to agree that they accept rules of the game and join it, not vice versa. Otherwise, conflicts are inevitable.”

After this-year SCO summit in Dushanbe, Russia will take on presidency in the organization to host the next forum in Ufa next year.
