Ukraine needs financial help from EU to counter unprecedented aggression — minister
Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services Volodymyr Groysman says Ukraine needs financial aid, first of all, to secure its eastern border
BRUSSELS, July 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine will need additional financial help of the European Union, as the country is subjected to four types of aggression, Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said in Brussels.
“Ukraine faces unprecedented challenges, suffering simultaneously from terrorist, economic, information and energy aggression,” Groysman said. He added that this situation “has brought together the people of Ukraine, who sacrificed millions of hryvnias for the sake of the country”. However, it is not enough, and Ukraine “needs European help”, Groysman stressed.
The minister said that Ukraine needs financial aid from the European Union, first of all, for “securing its eastern border”. “The eastern border of Ukraine can soon become the eastern border of the European Union,” Groysman added.
“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has prepared a plan for the country’s recovery for 2014-2016, it will be presented at an International Donors Conference in autumn,” Groysman said. The minister outlined the main objectives of the plan – ensuring energy security, creating a free trade zone between Ukraine and the EU, and eliminating corruption.
