Former Finance Minister Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai received 56.44% of votes
ABU DHABI, July 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Former Finance Minister Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai has won the presidential elections in Afghanistan, having received 56.44% of votes.
According to preliminary information provided by a member of the Central Electoral Commission on Monday, July 7, Ahmadzai’s competitor, former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah, received 43.56% of votes.
The second round of elections in Afghanistan took place on June 14. The final results of the elections will be announced on July 22.
