"Patriots are coming back to Maidan," said one of activists who said that ongoing protests were "not playing in the hand of the current authorities"
KIEV, July 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Another protest rally, or the so-called popular veche, is being held on Sunday in Kiev’s central Independence Square, known as Maidan - the word that has become a symbol of popular protests.
Activists refuted information that Maidan was rounding off. “Maidan is not going to leave. Patriots are coming back to Maidan,” said one of activists who said that ongoing protests were “not playing in the hand of the current authorities.”
A clergyman, who addressed the Maidan activists, said that “barricades cannot be removed by power shovels” until evidence was collected to investigate earlier clashes here.
Activists are serving an office for a man who was wounded here in clashes on February 18 and later died.
