Pro-Kiev forces resumed fierce military attacks on Ukraine’s southeastern regions
LUHANSK, July 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian military on Thursday shelled the village of Metallist near the city of Luhansk in eastern Ukraine from artillery guns, eyewitnesses said.
They said several shells overflew the positions of militiamen and exploded in a residential area of Luhansk, causing a fire.
No one has been injured so far.
Pro-Kiev forces resumed fierce military attacks on Ukraine’s southeastern regions after Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who had won an early presidential election on May 25 and taken office on June 7, terminated the 10-day ceasefire in the embattled Southeast on June 30.
When the truce between Ukrainian soldiers and southeastern militias was in place, it was reportedly violated by Kiev more than once.
