BERLIN, July 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed hope that NATO will be able to resume comprehensive cooperation with Russia in the future.

“I regret that cooperation with Russia has been restricted and suspended because contacts with Russia are very important,” Merkel said at a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen on Wednesday.

“One day we’d like to return to such state of affairs,” she said.
