Russia's Ambassador to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov says it is becoming increasingly difficult to implement Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's peace plan in the current conditions

MOSCOW, July 01. /ITAR-TASS/. The refusal to prolong the ceasefire in the south-east of Ukraine is a negative sign, Russia's Ambassador to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said before the beginning of a meeting of Russian ambassadors.

“This makes it even harder to understand the logic of how the confirmation of the so-called 15-point peace plan correlates with the refusal to prolong truce," he said.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to implement Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's peace plan in the current conditions, Chizhov added.

There were no new proposals from the European Union to hold a Russia-EU summit, the diplomat noted. “A Russia-EU summit, just as any other event between Russia and the European Union, is necessary to us to the same extent it is necessary to the EU,” he said.
