Russian border guards deny shooting dead militias on Ukraine’s border with Russia

ROSTOV-ON-DON, June 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian border guards have denied shooting dead Ukrainian militias who wanted to cross into Russia on the Ukrainian-Russian borders, Vasily Malayev, the press service chief of the border department of the Russian Federal Security Service department for the Rostov region, told ITAR-TASS on Wednesday.

"On June 26, some foreign and Russian media outlets spread information that Russian border guards in the Sverdlovsk district on the Russian-Ukrainian border had allegedly shot dead militants fighting on the side of the self-defense forces (in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions) who were trying to cross into Russia. The border department of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Rostov region is denying this information,” Malayev said.
