MOSCOW, June 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Moscow has long ago initiated a meeting on Syria within the Russia-US-UN format, Russia’s high-ranking diplomat has said.

Russia is waiting for the US partners’ reaction, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Thursday.

Russia also expects UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to take a decision on a new candidate for the job as Syria’s envoy. “We’re waiting for any concrete proposals,” Bogdanov said.
