BERLIN, June 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Germany expects Russia to contribute to resolving the crisis in Ukraine, the government’s spokesman has said.

“We expect Russia to take real measures for stabilising the situation in Ukraine, ceasing violence and embarking on a path to democracy,” spokesman Steffen Seibert said on Wednesday.

Germany hopes that Russia will thoroughly control the border with Ukraine, he said.

Germany and Russia “maintain permanent contacts over the Ukrainian crisis”, Seibert said.
