Caucasus’ South Ossetian poll-winning party leader elected as parliament speaker
United Ossetia party which acting republican Minister of Emergency Situations Anatoly Bibilov heads has won at parliamentary elections on June 8
TSIKHNVAL, June 23./ITAR-TASS/. Anatoly Bibilov is elected as speaker of South Caucasian Republic of South Ossetia’s sixth parliament. Thirty from 34 lawmakers voted for the only candidate for parliament speaker at a first parliamentary meeting on Monday after parliamentary polls on June 8.
The oldest lawmaker of newly-elected parliament Inal Mamiyev who is a lawmaker from the faction of United Ossetia party which gained more than 43% of votes at parliamentary elections led the first parliamentary meeting.
“Voters are waiting for positive results from us. Our work should bring fruit already within a few months,” Inal Mamiyev said.
United Ossetia party which acting republican Minister of Emergency Situations Anatoly Bibilov heads has won at parliamentary elections on June 8. Nine political parties were running in polls. Upon election returns four parties, namely United Ossetia, Unity of People, People’s Party and Nykhas party were elected in the new republican parliament.
