OSCE chairperson-in-office supports Poroshenko’s peace plan
KIEV, June 21, /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had a telephone conversation with Swiss President and Chairperson-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Didier Burkhalter on Saturday, June 21.
“Didier Burkhalter expressed support for the peace initiatives of the president of Ukraine to settle the situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, specifically for the decision to cease fire for further implementation of the peace plan announced by Ukraine,” the presidential press service said.
Burkhalter also invited Poroshenko to attend an OSCE conference in Vienna on June 24.
“The president of Ukraine instructed Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin to take part in the conference,” the presidential press service said.
Poroshenko “noted the need for effective monitoring of the ceasefire” and suggested that inspectors from the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission be present at “each of more than 100 roadblocks”.
