VIENNA, June 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Iran and the P5+1 continue working on a preamble of the future agreement, Iran’s top diplomat has said.

“We hope that the negotiators will continue the dialogue if we fail to reach agreement by July 20,” Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said on Friday.

“My deputies are meeting with EU Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Helga Schmid to coordinate the preamble of the future agreement,” he said.

“The parties should take into account the existing realities,” he said.

Disagreements remain between Iran and the P5+1, Zarif said.

The USA’s position should be more balanced. “The United States should show more will,” he said, adding that Americans put more pressure on Iran.

Iran and the P5+1 may meet at an early date. But the issue is being discussed now, Zarif said.

“Iran seeks to continue the constructive work,” he said.

According to previous reports, the next round of Iran-P5+1 talks is scheduled to take place in Vienna on July 2.

The West’s excessive requirements can prevent from reaching the final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program, Zarif said.

“Excessive pressure on Iran will not help reach agreement,” he said.

China’s chief negotiator said the next round of Iran-P5+1 talks on Tehran’s nuclear program would start in Vienna on July 2.

All parties are ready for a constructive dialogue, the director-general of the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s department for arms control, Wang Qun said.

“First experts will meet. Then the talks will be held under the chairmanship of Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton,” he said.

“I confirm that the parties seek to work in a constructive atmosphere. We’re ready to continue a fruitful dialogue,” Wang Qun said.

Answering an ITAR-TASS question how long the talks are held, the Chinese chief negotiator said, “This has not been specified yet.” “We’d like to complete the work by July 20,” he said.

Wang Qun said Iran and the P5+1 had coordinated the text of final agreement on Tehran’s nuclear programme. “I believe that this can be considered progress,” the director-general of the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s arms control and disarmament department.”

The P5+1 is a group of countries which in 2006 joined the diplomatic efforts with Iran in regard to its nuclear program. The term refers to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, namely the United States, Russia, China, United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
