MOSCOW, June 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian drug watchdog is preparing an assistance program to Afghanistan which envisages funding of building a base for commandoes near drug-making laboratories involved in drug trafficking to Russia, head of the Russian Federal Service for Control over Circulation of Drugs Viktor Ivanov said.

“The Russian Federal Service for Control over Circulation of Drugs is developing an assistance program to an anti-drug policy in Afghanistan which envisages financial aid,” Ivanov said.

The program will fund special task forces and construction of a base in Province Kunduz in northern Afghanistan near drug-making laboratories trafficking drugs to Russia. Meanwhile, the program will finance construction and keeping of a police dog handling centre in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, expenses for controlled buys, training of drug policemen and rehabilitation of drug addicts.

The program is being developed involving all agencies concerned, including the Finance Ministry and the Ministry for Economic Development.
