Security tightened at Russia's embassy in Kiev after attack
There are police officers and National Guard servicemen on watch around the embassy
KIEV, June 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian Interior Ministry has tightened security of the Russian embassy in Kiev after Saturday's violent attack, the Kiev police press service reported Monday.
Security has been tightened on the territory around the Russian embassy. There are police officers and National Guard servicemen on watch, the report said.
Moreover, a reserve force for cases of emergency situations has been formed of policemen with service cars and interior troops.
Attack on Russia's embassy in Kiev
The Russian Embassy to Ukraine came under a violent attack on Saturday, June 14, with embassy cars overturned, the Russian flag torn down and the premises pelted with eggs, smoke barrels and firecrackers. Ukrainian police did nothing to stop the attack.
West’s refusal to condemn the attack
The Russian delegation to the UN proposed to adopt a statement for the press to denounce the attack on the Russian Embassy, but the statement was blocked. The UK, the US and France were among those who blocked the draft statement.
