Russia to show advanced weaponry at Eurosatory arms exhibition

The Eurosatory arms exhibition demonstrates all trends in the development of armaments for land troops and ground air defense systems

MOSCOW, June 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s state-owned arms seller Rosoboronexport will demonstrate advanced weaponry at the Eurosatory 2014 arms exhibition, which opened in Paris on Monday, the Rosoboronexpot press office said.

Rosoboronexport specialists expect enhanced interest in various modifications of the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, Pantsyr-S1, Tor-M2E and Buk-M2E air defense systems, Kamov Ka-52 (Hokum-B), Mil Mi-28HE (Havoc) and Mil Mi-35M (Hind) attack helicopters, as well as Mil Mi-17 (Hip) military transport helicopters, the press office said.

Russia will also exhibit a simplified version of the Smerch multiple launch rocket system, the Msta-S modernized 155-mm self-propelled howitzer, the Kornet-EM anti-tank guided missile system and the Khrizantema self-propelled anti-tank system.

The Eurosatory arms exhibition demonstrates all trends in the development of armaments for land troops and ground air defense systems, Rosoboronexport Deputy General Director Igor Sevastyanov said.

Sevastyanov  heads the Rosoboronexport delegation at the Eurosatory arms exhibition.

“We traditionally demonstrate here the most advanced Russian armor, missile and artillery systems, close-range weapons and ammunition, key air defense systems, various simulators, and also some models of helicopters,” Sevastyanov said.

During the exhibition, talks are planned with leading world arms producers, including with French partners, “with whom Russia is implementing a large number of mutually advantageous joint projects, both in the interests of the Russian armed forces and the armed forces of third countries,” the Rosoboronexport press office said.

The Russian arms seller intends to hold talks at the exhibition with delegations from South-East Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Latin America.

Rosoboronexport is Russia’s sole state-run exporter of military products, services and know-how; affiliated with the state corporation Rostech. It is one of the world’s leaders on the weapons market, accounting for more than 80% of Russia’s export of armaments.
