MINSK, June 16./ITAR-TASS/. President Alexander Lukashenko has said the visit to Belarus by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is timely due to the existing problems between the two countries.

“We are to synchronise positions,” Lukashenko said at a meeting with Lavrov on Monday.

“There are no special problems in bilateral relations and at the ministries’ level,” he said.

Belarus and Russia have the programme of cooperation in 2014-2015. “I’m sure that the programme will be implemented as it should be between the brotherly countries,” Lukashenko said.

“In the beginning of the autumn both countries will discuss relations within the Union State. Our governments should meet to launch the Eurasian Economic Union,” Lukashenko said.

Sergei Lavrov said, “Today it is necessary to discuss the implementation of the agreements, reached at the meeting with Vladimir (Putin).”

“Today we’ve worked fruitfully and intend to report on further actions,” Lavrov said. The upcoming discussions with the Council of Ministers of the Union of State “will provide a foundation for developing the economies and resolving social issues in countries,” he said.
