BEIJING, June 11. /ITAR-TASS/. An explosion and fire in a coal mine in southwest China's Guizhou Province killed 10 people on Wednesday morning, Xinhua news reported.

According to local authorities, 130 miners were in a bottom hole at the time of the explosion, 120 of them managed to escape from the rubbles.

The incident occurred in the coal mine owned by Guizhou Hualong Coal Industry Co. Ltd, a joint venture of the local coal company and the Hong Kong China Resources Power Holdings Co. Ltd.
