Poland denies training mercenaries for Maidan protests — foreign minister

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said he would personally report such facts to the prosecution office if he learned aboutthe existence of such mercenaries

ST. PETERSBURG, June 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski was astonished by the news saying that the country was training Maidan protesters and sending mercenaries to Ukraine.

“I want to play down the rumors about Maidan gunmen’s training in Poland and about Polish mercenary armies in Ukraine”, the minister told his German and Russian counterparts at the trilateral conference on Tuesday, stressing that such activities are prohibited by the country’s law.

“If I, personally, learn something about the existence of such mercenaries, I will personally report the fact to the country’s prosecution office in order to get them punished in a proper way”, he added.
