Ukraine denies entry to Russian reporters working for ITAR-TASS, Zvezda TV
Ukraine’s Border Service spokesperson said that the “reporters have failed to present documents verifying the aim of their stay in the country”
KIEV, June 9. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine has denied entry to four reporters working for ITAR-TASS news agency and a two-strong crew from the Zvezda TV channel on Monday.
Ukraine’s Border Service spokesperson said that the “reporters have failed to present documents verifying the aim of their stay in the country”.
A group of Russian journalists was making a professional trip to Ukraine to cover the country’s developments in the wake of President Petro Poroshenko’s inauguration.
ITAR-TASS office in Kiev has filed a petition with the Ukrainian border guards asking them to let the journalists enter the country but the paper was left unattended.
The reporters had to get on a jet heading to Russia, with the Ukrainian border guard handing their documents to the crew.
