Almost $36 million of budget revenues not received from eastern Ukraine
"Donetsk and Luhansk will not survive without Ukraine, and Ukraine needs Donetsk and Luhansk. Therefore, we will not give them to anybody," Ukrainian parliament-appointed Prime minister says
KIEV, June 06./ITAR-TASS/. 422 million hryvnia ($35,88 million) were not transferred to the Ukrainian state budget from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in May, Ukrainian parliament-appointed Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk told a Supreme Rada (parliament) meeting on Friday.
"The situation is extremely critical. We did not receive 422 million hryvnia of state budget revenues from Donetsk and Luhansk for May," he said.
On the average, about 23 billion hryvnia ($1.96 billion) a year came to the state budget from the regions, or about two billion hryvnia ($170 million) a month, the premier noted.
Yatsenyuk supposed the two regions would not transfer about one billion hryvnia ($85 mln) to the state treasury in June.
He blamed it on "terrorists", saying they suspended transit, halted normal supply and threatened workers, forcing them not to pay taxes.
"Donetsk and Luhansk will not survive without Ukraine, and Ukraine needs Donetsk and Luhansk. Therefore, we will not give them to anybody," the prime minister said.
