MOSCOW, June 05./ITAR-TASS/. Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov would return to Kiev, the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday.

"I want to confirm that the Russia's Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov will participate in the ceremony of inauguration of the elected president of Ukraine," Lukashevich said.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told ITAR-TASS earlier on Thursday that the ambassador would attend the official ceremony of inauguration of president-elect Petro Poroshenko.

"Now, after the presidential elections the decision is taken that he (the ambassador) will return to Kiev, return to his duties and will participate in the official ceremony of inauguration of president Petro Poroshenko," Karasin said.

The Russian ambassador was recalled for consultations when "crisis developments began" in Ukraine, Karasin said. Zurabov returned to Moscow in late February.

The Russian ambassador would attend only the official part of the inauguration ceremony, an informed diplomatic source told ITAR-TASS on Thursday. "Our representative will not participate in the reception," the source said.

The inauguration will take place in the Ukrainian parliament on June 7.

Petro Poroshenko won the presidential elections with 54,7% of the votes. The early presidential elections were held in Ukraine on May 25.
