MOSCOW, June 05./ITAR-TASS/. Russian children's ombudsman Pavel Astakhov has helped evacuate a twelve-year-old boy, Russian citizen Kiril Boiko, from Donetsk to Russia, aide to the Russian ombudsman Renat Abdeyev told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.

The boy had been staying with his grandmother and grandfather in Sloviansk, while the boy's mother-a widow, went to Russia's Far East, where she found a well-paid job.

In spring , when Sloviansk turned into a war zone, the child's grandparents brought the boy to Donetsk. The Russian mother of the boy, who feared for his life, asked the children’s ombudsman to help bring the boy back to Russia. The ombudsman sent an urgent appeal to Russian Consul General in Kharkiv Sergei Semyonov, asking the consul to render assistance in the framework of his powers to defend the rights of Russian citizens.

As a result of joint efforts the Russian boy and his grandparents have been evacuated from the war zone and brought to Moscow by train.

On Thursday morning the family were welcomed in Moscow by the ombudsman's assistants who accompanied the family to the Paveletsky railway station from where the family will travel in a special rail car to Domodedovo airport to board a flight to Mirny, Far East.
