TOKYO, June 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Japan's government has decided against sending a high-level representative to the inauguration of Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko in view of the situation in the region. Tokyo will be represented at the ceremony by Takao Makino, a Member of Parliament and State Secretary at the Foreign Ministry, local media reported on Thursday.

Usually, Japan sends either one of ex-Premiers or an incumbent government member to such ceremonies.

The United States will be represented at the inauguration by Vice-President Joseph Biden and the European Union by President of the European Commission Herman Van Rompuy.
