DAMASCUS, June 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Incumbent President Bashar Assad has overwhelmingly won Syria’s presidential election, the speaker of the Syrian parliament said Wednesday.
A total of 88.7% of voters (10.2 million people) voted for Assad, he said.
The voter turnout stood at 73.42%.
