MOSCOW, June 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Collective Security Treaty Organisation Secretary-General has said the UN and the OSCE should step up efforts for finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.

“We favour de-escalation of tensions in Ukraine, the non-interference in its affairs, the renunciation of forcible actions and the inadmissibility to undermine security in the entire region,” Nikolai Bordyuzha said on Wednesday.

“New air strikes on Luhansk downtown and victims among civilians arouse deep concern,” the CSTO spokesman, Vladimir Zainetdinov told ITAR-TASS.

Bordyuzha “called for immediately stopping military actions in the south-east of Ukraine and creating conditions for providing humanitarian aid to residents of Donbass”.

“The tragic events, fratricidal war and bloodshed should be stopped,” he said.

“Political will is indispensable to take real steps towards starting a constructive dialogue on the political settlement of the conflict,” Bordyuzha said.

The CSTO is an intergovernmental military alliance including Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
