Refugees fleeing war zone in east of Ukraine offered shelter in Rostov region

A total of 375 families were reported to cross the state border since the end of March

MOSCOW, June 03. /ITAR-TASS/. A group of 80 Ukrainian refugees from the war zone in east of Ukraine are to cross into the Russian Rostov region on Tuesday, Russia's children’s Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov told a news conference on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian refugees have been crossing the state border with Russia in the area of the Belgorod region. The situation has been reported tense there. A total of 375 families were reported to cross the state border since the end of March with subsequent appeals filed to the Russian Federal Migration Service, including 338 appeals from families who asked for temporary asylum, and 37 appeals asking for a refugee status, the ombudsman said.

A total of 30 children and 26 adults from the Donetsk region have crossed the state border into Russia on foot overnight to June 2. All of them were accommodated on the Russian territory where they will have some rest and undergo a course of rehabilitation.
